5 Essential Tips for a Successful SEO Strategy for Your Business

Large cities are fast paced and busy. Sometimes your can spend hours stranded in traffic while travelling very short distances during peak hours. This makes visiting clients very time-consuming for sales reps on the road.

In a world where time is money, more and more business owners are turning to the internet to generate new customers and grow their company revenue. But achieving success online is not as easy as it once was.

With more and more companies jumping online the competition is getting fierce. Regardless, SEO still provides one of the best returns for marketing investment. With more and more people using Google to conduct research before making a purchase, it is essential that your business can be found on Google.

However, if you are like most business owners I talk with you don't have the time to market your own business online. After all staying up to date with the latest search engine guidelines and rules is a fulltime job.

It makes sense that most business owners would rather pay an SEO agency, company or individual to complete this work for them. If this is you then make sure you follow these 5 essential tips to achieve a successful SEO strategy for your business.

Tip #1 - Choose a Local Provider: The internet and advancements in communication technology now allows us to connect with someone on the other side of the world in realtime. With this technology you may be tempted to find anyone in the world to provide your SEO services.

However, the internet has also allowed many doors to open up for scam and fraud artists. For this reason it is always best to be able to meet your future SEO provider in person.

By finding a local SEO expert, agency or SEO company to carry out your search engine optimisation campaign, you have the flexibility of being able to catch up with them in person. You can get a lot out of meeting someone in the flesh as opposed to only meeting them via email, texts or even a phone call. Also when dealing with large amounts of money over the internet I am always cautious until I have a good understanding of who I am doing business with.

Create a strong relationship between you and your SEO provider by meeting in person, to ensure a strong result from your campaign.

Tip #2 - No Overseas Outsourcing: Once you have found a local SEO provider ask them if they outsource any of their SEO work overseas. If they do then you might as well work with someone overseas directly. But of course this is going against the first tip!

By outsourcing SEO work overseas, SEO companies can often charge higher amounts in-line with local prices and then get the work done overseas for a fraction of the cost. Meanwhile an overseas SEO provider may have poor English and not fully understand the location they are creating content for. Also they may use automation techniques for their copy writing and link building strategies which can lead to Google penalties. Unfortunately this is a common practice for SEO providers from third world countries.

When your SEO campaign is completed overseas you often receive a very poor standard of work. This can portray an unprofessional image for your business and can even lead to your website getting penalised. So avoid this at all costs.

Tip #3 - Get a Customised SEO Strategy: Achieving a successful SEO strategy requires complex analysis and planning. There are no one-size-fits-all approaches when it comes to SEO. And for that reason you should not choose an SEO package off the shelf and expect to achieve awesome results.

All reputable SEO providers offer a search engine optimisation service that is custom designed for each business they partner with. Reason being is that every business is different in terms of their market, products and services, and business goals.

A successful SEO strategy must take all of this into account and needs to be tailored to the individual business to meet their exact needs.

Tip #4 - Get Progress Reports: Another vital tip is to ensure that your local SEO provider provides progress reports.

Most common is to have a monthly report showing what work was done and how your website rank is tracking. If you are not getting this data then your SEO agency could be doing nothing while taking your money.

Make sure you review this report each time you get it and ensure progress is being made on your business goals.

Tip #5 - Play Safe: At the end of the day choosing who to partner with to provide your SEO services is not an easy task.

Even the most successful SEO strategies take time to blossom into a positive outcome. This is how scam artists get away with ripping people off in the online marketing world. They convey hope to their clients that the benefits will be coming, meanwhile they are simply pocketing your monthly investment each month.

Above all else beware of extremely low prices offered from an SEO provider. Quality SEO services normally costs anywhere in the range of $750-$5000 per month. If you are paying any less than this the SEO company may be using dodgy tactics which may result in a penalty once Google catches on.

Choose Wisely

No-one said choosing an SEO provider would be easy. However, by following these 5 essential tips you will have a much better chance at success.

Do your research and take your time in your decision for choosing who to partner with for your SEO strategy.

TM44 Legislation - Mandatory Lodgement of TM44 Reports

If you're a building owner or manager, you should already be aware of your responsibility under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive to have TM44 inspections carried out on all of your air-con systems. The reason that these inspections are deemed so important under the EPBD regulations is that they provide building owners and managers with up-to-date information on the energy performance of their systems. In turn, the findings of the inspection report allow you to make improvements in the event that your system is running inefficiently and using too much energy. By having a system that is operating efficiently, your energy bills will be reduced and so will your carbon footprint.

The EPBD set out legislative guidelines stating that air conditioning inspections should have been carried out on all air conditioning systems by the deadline of January 2011. Deadlines for inspection reports were staggered over two stages, depending on the output of the system being inspected. With the final 2011 deadline now having passed, any buildings that have not got a current TM44 report in place are contravening the law.

TM44 Inspection Reports - A Legal Responsibility

If you have not met your legal responsibility to have a TM44 air conditioning inspection carried, and therefore do not hold a current TM44 air conditioning report, you are at risk of facing a fine for non-compliance. In the past, it has been difficult for local authorities to monitor air conditioning reports and to see which properties have not complied with the air conditioning inspection guidelines - but a new government system will make it much easier to ensure compliance and to identify building owners who have failed to have the air conditioning inspections carried out and do not hold a current TM44 air conditioning report as required.

As of 1st July 2011, CLG will require the mandatory lodgement of air conditioning reports. This means that the inspection and subsequent TM44 report that has been carried out on your building's air-con system will need to be lodged on Landmark - the CLG Government database. Landmark has been specifically designed to enable the government to immediately identify any buildings that have not had the necessary inspections and reports carried out by a qualified TM44 assessor. This is in direct response to the number of building owners and managers who have not complied with the EPBD legislation for the mandatory lodgement of TM44. If you fall into this category, this new system will mean that you will be found and fined.

Low Rates of TM44 Legislation Compliance

CIBSE has declared their support for the mandatory lodgement of TM44 inspection reports. With the current rates of compliance falling below 5% for TM44 inspections, it is clear that there is a need to take steps that will force building owners to meet their responsibilities. The introduction of the TM44 guidelines and legislation were expected to deliver good levels of carbon emission reductions, but with such a high level of non-compliance, these expectations will not be met. It is hoped that with the lodgement of TM44 reports being made mandatory, these reductions in emissions stand a better chance of being delivered.

It is clear that if you have not already complied with the EPBD regulations, you need to arrange for an inspection straight away so that you can lodge your TM44 reports as required before you get hit with a heavy fine.

Types of Formwork - Concrete Formwork Contractors

Formwork is a complex technique involved in construction that requires specialist contractors for proper use. It's the term given to specific molds or receptacles into which concrete is poured to make slabs for construction or actual components of buildings. Once the concrete has hardened to an adequate level, the forms are removed. This is known as 'stripping'.

There are many different types of formwork which are used in building, for many different purposes. There are three main materials for creating formwork - traditional timber formwork, engineered formwork (usually a metal frame) and stay-in-place formwork systems (usually pre-made concrete systems). Using these types of formwork, there are a variety of different ways to create slabs and structures from formwork.

How It Works

Roman engineers began using slab formwork to complete major constructions which used concrete. The engineers built their constructions using arches and domes because concrete does not have a strong resistance to stress. Concrete only became a popular material with which to build once reinforced concrete was invented.

Different Types of Formwork

Traditional slab formwork uses timber, masonry and carpentry to complete construction. The method works through tree trunks or other lumber supporting rows of stringers which are placed three to six feet or one to two meters apart with joints placed between the stringers.

Metal beam slab formwork is much the same as the traditional slab formwork method, the only difference being that steel is used instead of timber and metal props are used instead of supports. This system is reusable and more methodical than the traditional method. The finish of the concrete is smoother and the formwork is easier to remove after the cement has cured.

Modular slab formwork is created from pre-made timber modules or modules made from steel or aluminium. These are usually produced in a factory offsite and added to construction once completed.

The Table or Flying Form System

Another type of formwork is table or flying form systems. These consist of slab formwork tables which are reusable. These tables do not have to be dismantled and can be used in high buildings where cranes or elevators are used to lift the tables. Once the table is positioned, the space between the wall and table is filled. Tables vary in size from eight square meters to 150 square meters. This type of formwork is a huge saver of both labour and time and is a favourite of construction engineers and architects. However, table formwork is best used in the construction of large, but simple structures.

Because the system is easily dismantled into single parts, it is transportable. The system is built in the same way as beam formwork, apart from these single parts. Joists and stringers are screwed, bolted or welded to become a deck.

Formwork should be placed at the correct height so that there is sufficient space to remove them once the concrete has set or cured. Due to this reason, the support systems of table formwork need to be height adjustable. Adjustable metal props can be used to support the systems. Some use steel or aluminium to insert stringers and supports into the systems, while others use metal frame shoring towers to attach the decks to. Others attach the decks to walls or columns that have been pre-cast which means that contractors do not need to use vertical props, simply support shoes bolted through holes.

Crane Lifting for Table Formwork

Tables produced which are five to seven meters wide with a potential length of over 100 feet are lifted by crane. The decks and formwork are moved to the edge of the building once the concrete has been cured and the crane lifts the protruding edge upwards, the rest of the formwork follows.

The advantages to crane-handled flying formwork include lowered labour costs and a more methodological way of functioning. However, lifting of this nature requires extremely advanced cranes to function, which can be expensive.

Elevator or Crane Fork Lifting for Table Formwork

When smaller tables are produced, such as those that are two to three meters in width and four to seven meters long, these are lifted by crane transport fork or material platform elevators which are attached to the side of the building.

Shifting trolleys are used to transport the tables horizontally to the elevator or crane platform. Crane fork flying formwork is used mostly in the US and Europe and other countries where labor costs are high as this technique is labor reducing, therefore cost reducing. Smaller tables can be customized to suit buildings of a more complex design. The disadvantage of this type of formwork is the cost of raw materials and cranes.

Formwork should always be undertaken by a professional contractor who is experienced and certified in their knowledge and services. Because formwork involves concrete that is heavily affected by a number of stresses, the incorrect use can be dangerous as the concrete may collapse. Formwork has however allowed people to build structures never before dreamed possible and paves the way for future construction.

ABS Disposable Formworks are concrete shaping structures made of recycled plastic that is used only once. They are also called void formers, permanent formworks, or single-use formworks. They create reinforced concrete raised floors up to 300 cm, thus providing a light, fast, easy and economical filling in any structure. Reinforced concrete raised floors are constructed faster and easier, are lighter weight, and are more economical than conventional filling applications.

ABS Disposable Formworks can be used for any sort of lightweight filling application. Uses include sunken slab fillings, landscape fillings to create a hard surface, inverted beam fillings, fillings between foundation footings, car park ramps, pool decks, elevator/staircase hallway fillings, and crawlspace construction.

In addition, reinforced concrete raised floors created with disposable formworks can be used instead of modular raised floors by adding a grid of simple junction boxes to the system.

ABS Disposable Formworks are produced in two different types depending on whether the leg height is fixed or adjustable.

How Grape Vines Shutdown When Under Stress

Vines have a really useful system SHUT DOWN mechanism. If physiology-cell-tissue variables Red-Line then the chemical signals in the leaves, shoots, and grapes start to move. Chemicals like mammal hormones move though much slower and the message is to SHUT DOWN. If the season is too tough then they will just shut down for the season, it just sends messages to the leaves that OK that's enough for this year we are shutting up the shop, we will try again next year.

So it drops its leaves the carbohydrates seep away from the shoots and leaves into the cordons, trunk, and deep into the roots, especially the roots, it harbors its photosynthate goodies and then waits, it sleeps bears out he winter in suspended animation. It gathers its goodies into its trunk and mainly its roots and hibernates until next season in which it will try its luck again, the next season bears the hope of a season that could be more conducive to growth and grape berry formation, perhaps a luckier fruit set period, perhaps better rain, hope springs eternal for the possibilities of next season.

Extreme Vine Stress and the tripping of this automatic shutdown sequence.

During the season it is the leaves that give us the best indication of grapevine stress: the leaves are not as green as usual, they may be curling on the edges, there could be holes in them and some leaves have died and have already fallen to the ground. Catch the grapevine stress early to prevent a system-wide vine shutdown.

So the leaves give us the best and easiest visual indication of grapevine stress. When you see evidence of grapevine stress it gives us some time to take some corrective action be it the need for more water(irrigation), the soil may be waterlogged, the nitrogen levels in the vine could be low or some pest is draining the life force from the grapevine trunk. Either way, unhappy leaves mean it's time to do some doctoring deduction on the grapevine.

Failure to take the right corrective action triggers the vine shut down sequence so that the leaves drop and any bunches of grapes also drop to the ground and your season of grapes is over a lot of investment for the year be it in dollars or time has been lost.

Heat-Related Grape Vine Shutdowns.

Something to bear in mind is the effect of heat on vine shutdown. The vines are growing in spring and summer. In spring the problem will be cold, if the temperature goes below 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit) the leaves stop functioning at the top end over 32 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit) the vines also stop functioning. So the photosynthesis stops and the grapevine is under stress. Too many of the heat stress days in a row can force the vine into a full shutdown. The leaf photosynthesis machinery starts up again when the temperature gets back into the right growing range.

Best, Planned Annual Vine Shutdowns.

Do not ignore the vine after you have taken the grapes. You need to invest in next season. The leaves still need to function for as long as possible so that the carbohydrates translocate into the roots. Keep up the water so that it invests as much as possible for next season. These reserves are the starter-motor for next season's first growth it creates the vegetative burst prior to the shoots becoming net providers of photosynthate goodness.

Tips for Choosing Funeral Insurance Plans

Funeral insurance is a kind of insurance specifically designed to provide for the costs associated with the burial and interment of a deceased loved one. It is also referred to as burial, final expense or pre-need insurance.

For death is inevitable, it is a smart move to pre-plan this event. With a funeral insurance plan, not only does it make sure that one's funeral is arranged and paid for in advance but also it unburdens and helps ease the stress of the family members or beneficiaries left behind. Basically, it's a pre-paid arrangement so families or beneficiaries left behind only have to follow the plan as it is laid out.

Funeral insurance plans vary from traditional whole life insurance, which includes funeral expenses or life insurance just intended to cover all of the funeral expenses, to pre-need contract, policies or agreements that only cover funeral expenses.

Most insurance companies allow coverage that includes any family member in the event that they should go first before the policyholder.

Most insurance companies include a funeral insurance cover of up to $15,000 with no medical requirements. This means that if you have health issues and have been rejected for other types of insurance before because of these, you will still be able to get some cover in place for your family with a funeral plan.

Generally, funeral insurance plan cost depends on the type of policy or contract bought and the age. Premiums can start from as low as a few dollars that can be paid weekly or fortnightly, monthly or yearly or a lump-sum payment (especially for people who are of retirement age).

The funeral insurance coverage may determine the kind of payment schedule plan. Variations may range from the single-premium policy where a lump-sum payment is made once. One can also have immediate coverage for the full death benefit or the graded death benefit where coverage amount increases over time. Also, there is the traditional whole life policy where the amount of coverage remains the same as long as payment of premiums is regularly paid. However, coverage ends once one stops paying.

There are many insurance companies and policies for funerals out there, so it is important to choose the right one. Here are some tips for considering funeral insurance:

Before buying a funeral insurance plan, find out first whether you already have life insurance that includes funeral expenses or other savings that may be used for funeral expenses. Don't buy an insurance plan unless it is necessary.

Make research and review your state's laws on pre-need insurance before you meet with a planner at a funeral home.

Make sure to have a discussion of your burial policy with your family and lawyer.

Do thorough research on the different funeral insurance companies out there and their options.

Take note that funeral insurance policies have a "free-look" period. This could be from 30 to 60 days where one is entitled to review the policy purchased and cancel the policy without penalty if you decide that you don't totally approve of the plan.

Like everything in life, use caution in buying a funeral insurance plan. Make sure to review all its details, its terms and payment, and its schedules. Be sure that you understand them.

On Uitvaartverzekeringpagina.nl you can learn everything about funeral insurance. Choosing a funeral insurance policy can be difficult. We at Uitvaartverzekeringpagina.nl try to make that easier for you. Below you will find information about what a funeral insurance policy entails, why it is useful to take out and which funeral insurance companies there are, and which type of funeral insurance is best for your situation.

9 Secrets To Making Laser-Accurate Financial Decisions

Making top notch financial decisions is the goal of all good managers. Unlock these secrets to make a start on this process today.

Secret #1. Think Widely on Options to Solve the Problem

It is a waste of your time if you make decisions without canvassing ALL the options. How can the business be served well if you haven't bothered to think of all the ways to solve your financial problem?

For example, if you are required to find a replacement for an aging computer system or factory plant item, what options would you think were available? What questions would you ask?

- Replace with a comparable item?

- Repair, upgrade, refurbish or maintain the current item?

- Purchase new/second-hand item with more capacity and increased output?

- Will the customers still be there for the outputs of the new equipment over its life?

- Will the company's direction still provide a need for this asset over its life?

- What are competitors likely to be doing during the life of the asset?

- Will the cost of the new equipment price the product out of the market?

Secret #2. Think Outside the Box

Now that you have thought of good questions it's time to apply some creative thinking processes to them in order to get the best answers.

There are many tools for creative thinking available. Just go to your favorite search engine and type in "creative thinking" for a host of suggestions. Some commonly used ones are:

- Brainstorming

- Plus Minus Interesting (PMI)

- "Six Thinking Hats"

- S.C.A.M.P.E.R.

- Lateral Thinking

- Random Input

Enter any of these into the search engine for an explanation of the terms.

Also you can also gain some real insights by listening to dissenters in your company or other outsiders. They may just have the key that will make your decisions a lot easier and generate more profits for the company. Do not forget to include their ideas.

These tools are designed to provide you with many answers to your questions

Secret #3. Gather ALL the Data,

In order to make a successful financial decision you will need as much data as you can use effectively. You will need to quantify the costs and benefits so that a rational decision can be made easily. The best way to do this is to convert them all to dollars. This will make it easier to assess competing options.

Some Costs to Consider:

- Installation of new equipment

- Removal of current equipment

- Downtime costs e.g. lost orders, increased stocking costs, extra labor to catch up with customer orders

- Training costs for new equipment

- New maintenance costs

- Capital costs

- Tendering costs, purchasing costs

- Initial transport costs

Some Benefits to Consider:

- Less wastage

- Less labor input

- Less resource inputs

- Increased safety

- Increased quality of life

- Faster customer response

- More accurate data

- Faster production times

- Less stock required

- Scrap/Trade-in Value at end of economic life

- Scrap/Trade-in Value of current equipment

Secret #4. Analyze the Data

Now that you have collected the data and have converted it to dollars, it's time to evaluate each viable option using a systematic method.

There is a proven, tested method called Cost Benefit Analysis, which is the tool of choice for these kinds of decisions. It can be used effectively for asset replacement decisions as well as funding choices. Big business and governments around the world use it. The US government is a big user of this technique. In fact, it has legislated, federally, that this method be used when making decisions regarding funding to various major programs.

This method allows you to weigh up the relative costs and benefits of competing proposals, showing you which option is the most profitable, least costly or provides the greatest net benefit.

There are certain rules that need to be adhered to so that the final decision can be understood and acted upon. You can find the link to a site offering this proven method at the end of this article or in the Author Profile.

Secret #5. Make The Decision

Based on the Cost Benefit Analysis results produced above, there should be a clear answer as to the best way forward - provided all the processes were completed correctly.

You can be confident that this is the best financial decision, given the information at hand and the assumptions underlying the analysis.

Secret #6. Sell the Decision,

Once the decision is made it needs to be communicated, since others will need to know. Some groups who may need to know and be convinced that your decision is in their best interests are:

- Employees

- Board members

- The press

- Customers

- Suppliers

- The owners

- Special interest groups

Since you used a tested, proven system to make the decision it makes it easier to convince these groups of the correctness of your decision - saving you time and effort.

Secret #7. Review the Decision

A year after the decision has been made, communicated to stakeholders and implemented it is time to go back and review the decision. This is often referred to as a Post Completion Review. Some areas of review are listed below:

- Assumptions - were they correct?

- Costs - did the actual costs of purchase, installation and operation equal the assumed costs in the proposal?

- Were there other costs involved that were not planned for originally?

- Benefits - did they eventuate? Were they in line with the initial assumptions?

- Were there any problems in implementation not foreseen in the proposal?

- Did the decision and implementation involve all the people who could add value?

Secret #8. Learn the Lessons

Once the questions above have answers there will be lessons that can be learned from the experience. Lessons such as:

- We need to include all of the costs next time - some critical ones were missed

- Some of the benefits did not eventuate - we were not careful enough to think through how these would be created

- Some critical staff members were left out of the decision-making process, but could have assisted to make the process less costly and run more smoothly

- The process of cost benefit analysis has taught us to think more critically about important financial decisions

Secret #9. Apply the Lessons

So that the errors or mistakes in this proposal are not transferred on to the next proposal, the lessons above need to be applied.

Some ways this can occur are as follows:

- Hold meetings at executive level where the Post Completion Reviews and the lessons learned are discussed.

- Use the company newsletter to discuss how future decisions will be conducted based on the lessons learned.

- Make senior managers accountable for their financial decisions; make part of their salary contingent upon their decision performance.

- Establish a company-wide culture of making good financial decisions using tools that can positively produce the best outcomes.

This is but a short summary of a very expansive topic. It is hoped that this article will provide a springboard for you to begin making better decisions - may be as early as today.

The financial decisions you make today can make a huge difference to your future life. The basis of a long-term sound economy is savings, regardless of whether it is in shares, mutual funds, or something else.

Understanding the Definition of Health Related Fitness

Being a Health and Fitness Professional, it is my job to understand terms and definitions which are commonplace to this industry, as well as to keep abreast of evolving trends. Through my experience, I have found that a number of terms deserve a little more clarification than that which they are granted.

Aside from clarifying the definition of Health Related Fitness, this article intends to shed some light on a few of the associated terms and to show their respective distinctions.

Is it simply all in a name?

The fitness world seems to use the concept Health Related Fitness like a generic fitness principle - interchangeable with others like "Physical Fitness", "Health and Fitness" or simply "Fitness."

While all of these terms can be included under the broad term Health and Physical Fitness, they individually refer to different aspects - both generic and specific. Unfortunately, references to these and other fitness-related terms are often vague, while consistency in their intended use is meager at best; there is a kind of "generally accepted" use for them, but individuals often rely on their own interpretation, and this can lead to confusion.

With that said, does Health Related Fitness simply infer fitness by means of good health? Not quite. That is why we need to understand a little more behind these words before digesting the definition.

How did the term Health-Related Physical Fitness come about?

That is a good question. One could probably ask what is this concept all about - can we not simply use the terms "Fitness" or "Physical Fitness" instead?" Why Health "Related"?

The main reason stems from the fact that most health and fitness terms are used inconsistently and often refer to different concepts or notions. Subsequent to the 1996 report from the US Surgeon General (Physical Activity and Health; a report of the Surgeon General), there was a move to try and address the alarming rise in obesity levels among the general American public. Studies and initiatives required standardization among clinicians, health practitioners, and fitness trainers to grapple with the task at hand. Enter "Health-Related Physical Fitness", a working term to address the general state of health among the public.

The definition of Health-Related Fitness

According to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the main authority in this field, ineffective definitions with unclear and subjective wordings, as well as definitions containing terms which themselves require defining, have contributed to confusing the term "Physical Fitness."

There exists no reliable guide for Health and Fitness Professionals to measure "Physical Fitness", because the term has been so loosely and inconsistently defined. It is therefore that one should consider the concept of Health Related Fitness. The definition, therefore, centers on the 5 Components of Physical Fitness which relate to "good health." These Components are:

Cardiorespiratory Fitness

Body Composition

Flexibility

Muscular Strength

Muscular Endurance

On the other hand, Skill Related Fitness Components are:

Balance

Reaction Time

Coordination

Agility

Speed

Power

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the definition of Physical Fitness emphasizes the difference between Health-Related Physical Fitness and Athletic Ability Physical Fitness. Its point-of-departure is the "health" of the US nation, which is often referred to as the "public health perspective." In that respect, the 5 Health Related Fitness Components are more important than those related to Athletic Ability (or Skill Related Components).

Although the concept of Health Related Fitness has an integral association with "good health", the 5 Components are addressed individually by health professionals to allow for their measurement.

Now that we have a deeper understanding of the term, what purpose does it serve?

Continuing from where the definition left off, the objective of measuring the 5 Components is to advise clients about their own particular Health Related Fitness, and to use data obtained from the tests to design appropriate exercise programs which can then be evaluated.

The 5 Components contribute evenly to make up a holistic Health Related Fitness, which is of direct interest to the health of the ordinary citizen, in that the concept is normative. In other words, it is a standard that allows for consistent application.

It is therefore important for those working in the health and fitness industry not to mistake "overall physical fitness" with "Health-Related Physical fitness."

To conclude, let us consider this distinction between Physical Fitness and Health-Related Fitness

One needs to bear in mind that regular physical exercise can improve overall Physical Fitness, as well as Health Related Fitness. However, overall fitness is a generic term and is up to subjective interpretation, while Health Related Fitness can be assessed.

The distinction, therefore, between these two terms, exists in that Health-Related Physical Fitness can be measured according to a set of established comparative norms.

This is where the "rubber hits the road." The guidelines set out by the ACSM enable health professionals to work with clients to assess and measure their response to exercise and prescribe appropriate exercise programs. A client's progress can then be monitored and adjusted where necessary in order to obtain the desired fitness goals.

Dining on Vacations - How to Find a Local Restaurant

The new and different foods make dining at a restaurant while on vacation a real treat. When you travel to a new location, you are not familiar with the area which can make finding a good restaurant difficult. You do not want to end up eating at a place that may not have the best standards so it is important to know how to find a quality restaurant.

The following is a guide on how to find a local restaurant when on vacation:

1. Tourist guide books are a great source of information for locating a great restaurant. Most guide books will have restaurant reviews or ratings. Most hotels carry local guide books, but if they don't, check at the local library or tourist center.

2. Hotel employees are a valuable resource when searching for excellent local attractions because they are usually locals. They should know where the good restaurants are located. As well, if you are looking for a particular type of restaurants such as Italian or Greek, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

3. The actual local residents will be able to provide you with information about good restaurants. Such locals, you can ask to include retail employees, bus drivers, taxi drivers, and even people walking along the street. They should also be able to tell you about prices and the type of restaurant.

4. The internet is a great source of restaurant information. You can find a number of sites listing reviews, ratings, the type of food served, popular dishes, and more. There are some sites that allow customers to post their own reviews.

5. Another way of locating a restaurant is to do a walk through the area. If you come across a restaurant, check the quality by walking in and looking around to see how clean it is. Look at the floors, walls, and tables to see if there is any dirt. Look to see how many people are dining which is a good indication of its popularity. You may want to go into the bathroom to see how clean and well-kept it is. You can also take a quick glance at the meals the customers are eating. Note the appearance of the food and if the diners seem to be enjoying the meal. Ask to see a menu. If the servers have sloppy and dirty uniforms, you may want to keep looking. The appearance of the restaurant and how well it is maintained is a good indication of the quality of the food.

6. Check the local media such as newspapers and television. Restaurants tend to advertise in these mediums. Local television ads tend to highlight food descriptions and even show pictures of dishes. Pamphlets, brochures, and coupon books are also great sources of restaurant information.

A vacation is a great time to get away from the stresses of life and relax and be pampered. Dining at a restaurant is one of the many great features of taking a vacation. In order to ensure that all of your meals will be delicious, take the time to learn how to find the best restaurants in your destination area.

Want to Know About Website Design?

There are so many website design companies dotted around the world, it seems every man and his dog is setting up such a company, in fact, anyone with a laptop seems able to offer this service, and the prices for such a service are dropping like flies, you can pick up a website for a few hundred pounds, etc.

So what makes one website design company different from another? What are the unique selling points that you have to be on the lookout for to make you choose one company over any other?

This question really depends upon the type of business that you are in, eg. if you are a fancy hotel with a number of restaurants, you are going to need a website a little more upmarket than say a local tradesman such as a plumber or an electrician; this is obviously going to reflect in the price that is charged.

If you are going to want regular updates to your website this will also be reflected in the price you pay either monthly or at the beginning.

One of the most overlooked items when looking for a website designer is whether or not any search engine optimisation (SEO) is included, without this your website will never get seen by people/customers searching for the keywords relating to your website/business, this is probably the most important factor when deciding who to get to design your website.

Designing websites today is relatively easy compared to 5 or 10 years ago, you have content-managed websites such as WordPress these can be built by anyone with an intermediate knowledge of computers, you do not have to have any website design or HTML knowledge. Hence the reason why there are so many website design companies springing up, what these companies don't or can't do is the most important thing to do with a website and that is SEO, the problem is that it takes a very long time to do it right.

If you are looking for a website design company in your local area simply type in to Google "website design" + your locality, for example, website design in Lincoln, this will bring you up a list of website designers in Lincoln showing with a map in the top right-hand corner and little red flags showing where the businesses are located, you need to be choosing one of these businesses as there SEO skills have been shown by them being on the first page of Google.

Now you have to decide what you want to pay for being on the first page of Google, I can pretty much guarantee that 98% of website designers will only want to build you a website first then charge you a fee for doing SEO work, what you need is the 2% of website design companies that do everything as a package and that allow you to pay for it monthly and without signing any kind of contract, let me explain.

If you are new to the world of website design, you are probably unsure as to whether it will work for you or not, it seems a little unfair to ask you to pay £300 - £400 for a basic website not knowing if it will make you any money or at least get your phone ringing with inquiries.

The 2% of website design companies that do what you need will do the following, they will pay for your domain name, they will build you a website, they will host the website and they will get the website placed on the first page of Google (generally in the top three spots) all FREE of charge, they will then allow you a period of time to evaluate the amount of new business you have received in this time (normally 1 month from the time you get into the top three spots).

Only then will they charge you for your website and SEO, this is anywhere from £50 per month to £2,000 per month depending on the type of business you are in, what you have to remember is that you have already seen the amount of profit you have made from your FREE month at the top of Google, its just now a matter of haggling for you to remain there, if you think about it, it won't actually cost you anything in reality as you're paying for your next month's website at the top of Google from your previous month's profit, the profit you would not have had had you not been at the top of Google.

Mick Young specializes in website design in Lincoln [http://www.localtradeswebsitedesign.co.uk] and has a company called Local Trades Website Design that specializes in designing websites for local trades such as plumbers, electricians, painter, and decorators, etc, pretty much just about any kind of business that your customers would normally have used Yellow Pages or something similar to find you and your business.

They then get it ranked on the first page of Google. After you've seen the amount of new business your new website brings (you get approx 1 month), then you decide if you want to buy it. Click here

For the Chocoholics: All About Chocolate

If you're like many people, chocolate is not a luxury; it's a necessity. Often considered the fifth food group, chocolate has inspired one of the most widespread and passionate of people's love affairs with food. While the taste is nothing short of amazing, our fascination with chocolate since its discovery over 2000 years ago has included other benefits as well. Chocolate has been considered an aphrodisiac, a natural cure for the blues, part of cardiovascular health (more recently), and even a form of currency. With its rich history and particular health and social importance, we at Recipe4Living thought it only right to include a guide to chocolate. Satisfy your curiosity about chocolate's past, how it's made, and how you can select, store, and prepare chocolate in your own home.

A Brief History of Chocolate

Mayan Beginnings

Our chocolate obsession actually began many, many centuries ago with the Mayan civilization of Mexico and Central America (250-900 A.D.). But, the Mayan form of chocolate bore hardly any resemblance to what we enjoy today. Most Mayans grew the cacao tree, the source of chocolate, in their backyards, and harvested the seeds, which they then fermented, roasted, and ground. Combined with water and hot chili spices, the ground paste became an unsweetened frothy beverage regularly enjoyed as part of Mayan life.

Aztec and the Sacred Brew

The Aztecs adopted this bitter drink and even considered it the food of the gods. The word chocolate comes from the Aztec word "xocoatl," meaning bitter drink. While most Mayans could enjoy the drink, chocolate was reserved for royalty, priests, and other members of the highest social class in Aztec culture. Chocolate was such an important part of Aztec society that cacao seeds became a form of currency.

Journey to Europe

When the Spanish, led by Hernando Cortez, conquered Mexico in 1521, they quickly picked up on the importance of chocolate to the Aztecs and started shipping it home. The Spanish added cinnamon, sugar, and other spices to the very expensive import, and kept their chocolate drink a secret enjoyed only by the Spanish nobility for almost 300 years. When Spanish royalty began marrying other Europeans, the word spread quickly and it was soon popular all over Europe, but only for the wealthy. Not until the 18th and 19th century, when sea trade expanded and chocolate began to be mass produced, could most of the middle class afford chocolate. By the late 18th century, chocolate houses were as popular as coffee houses throughout England.

Making Chocolate

Unlike many crops, the pods of the delicate cacao tree must be picked by hand, making the process of creating chocolate a laborious affair. The pods are opened one by one, and the pulp-covered seeds extracted. To reduce bitterness, cacao seeds are fermented for several days (like wine grapes), and then dried. At this point, farmers sell sacks of cacao seeds to corporate buyers, where industrial machines take over. On the factory floor, large machines roast the seeds to release the taste and aroma. The roasted seeds are cracked open to reach the nib or heart, which is then ground into chocolate liquor (not liqueur). This thick liquid, made of cocoa butter and cocoa solids, is manipulated to create the different kinds of chocolate.

Cocoa- This powdered form of chocolate, often used in baking, is made from pulverized cocoa solids with the cocoa butter removed.

Unsweetened Chocolate (Bitter/Baking Chocolate)- This is pure, unaltered chocolate liquor, made of 45% cocoa solids and 55% cocoa butter.

Bittersweet Chocolate (Semi-Sweet)- Sugar, cocoa butter, lecithin, and vanilla are added to chocolate liquor to make this kind of chocolate, which contains at least 35% chocolate liquor. Bittersweet chocolate and sweeter semi-sweet chocolate are used interchangeably in baking.

Couverture- This term is given to bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate varieties of the highest quality. Couverture chocolates contain a higher percentage of chocolate liquor (even 70%).

Dark Chocolate (Also Called Sweet Chocolate by U.S. Government)- No milk is added in this form of chocolate, which contains between 15% and 35% chocolate liquor. Dark chocolate is actually lighter in chocolate flavor than bittersweet and semi-sweet even though it is dark in color.

Milk Chocolate- This popular form of chocolate contains milk or milk solids and 10% to 25% chocolate liquor. Milk chocolate is smoother, sweeter, and less bitter than darker varieties.

White Chocolate- Since white chocolate contains no cocoa solids, it's not really chocolate at all. White "chocolate" is made from cocoa butter, vanilla, milk, and sugar. It may not be chocolate, but it's still delicious.

Chocolate is Good for You!........Honestly!

* Mood Elevator- Chocolate contains phenylethylamine, which is a mild mood elevator/anti-depressant, and also happens to be the same chemical that our brain produces when we feel love or happiness. Chocolate contains other stimulants to "raise" your mood, such as caffeine, in very small amounts. In fact, one ounce of milk chocolate only has about as much caffeine as a cup of decaffeinated coffee. Because these chemicals are so mild, chocolate is not considered physically addictive (despite how many people feel about it).

o Want to make the ultimate aphrodisiac? Like chocolate, chili peppers are considered an aphrodisiac for their intensity of taste and their ability to raise the heart rate. The Mayans and Aztecs understood this great pairing, and many chocolatiers today are adding different types of chilies to their sweets. Give it a try with your significant other. * Cardiovascular Health- Like red wine, tea, fruits, and vegetables, cocoa seeds contain important antioxidants called flavonoids. Antioxidants help to reduce certain damage to the body's cells and tissues over time. In recent studies, the flavonoids in chocolate have been found to regulate certain hormones essential to cardiovascular health and may even have further immunoregulatory effects. Dark chocolate, which contains the highest concentration of cocoa liquor, is considered the best for your health. Dark chocolate contains about twice as many antioxidants as a bar of milk chocolate.

* Cholesterol- Just because it tastes good doesn't mean it has to be bad for you. Unlike many comfort foods, eating chocolate will not raise your cholesterol. Chocolate and cocoa butter contain both saturated and unsaturated fat. But unlike many saturated fats, the stearic acid in chocolate is a neutral fat and does not raise bad cholesterol levels (LDL). The unsaturated fat in chocolate, oleic acid, is the same type of fat as in olive oil, which may actually help raise good cholesterol (HDL).

Chocolate Care

* Storage- Chocolate should be stored in a cool, dry place at approximately 65-70 degrees F. It should not be stored in the refrigerator, because moisture will alter the chocolate's texture and appearance. High temperatures will cause a "bloom" or "cloud" on the surface of the chocolate. This bloom does not affect the taste or freshness of the chocolate, only the appearance. It is caused when the cocoa butter crystals melt and migrate to the surface of the chocolate.

* Isolation- Chocolate has a tendency to absorb the odors of any food around it, which is another reason not to store chocolate in the fridge. Don't store chocolate in the same cabinet as onions, for example, because it will affect the taste of the chocolate. Be careful that the storage container and all preparation utensils are clean and odorless.

* Shelf Life- Most chocolate will keep for about a year if stored properly, and the darker varieties last longer. Filled chocolates should only keep for about one month.

* Moisture- Do not add water to chocolate unless your recipe specifically calls for it. Water will harden the texture and consistency of chocolate. Keep this principle in mind when melting chocolate. Do not cover melting chocolate with a lid because steam will collect on the lid and fall into the chocolate. You can use a light cloth cover if need.

* Melting Chocolate- Because chocolate is very delicate to heat, you have to melt chocolate slowly, well removed from heat. Always heat chocolate over low heat or it will quickly become an unappetizing mass. Use a double boiler, or place the saucepan with chocolate on top another saucepan with boiling water on the stovetop. Keep in mind that chocolate will continue to melt even after removing it from a heat source, so be careful not to overcook.

- Unsweetened chocolate will easily liquefy when melted, but sweetened chocolate must be continually stirred.

- Chocolate flavored coating contains cocoa and vegetable oil, rather than cocoa butter. Coatings are popular because they are easier to use for things like dipping, but the taste and quality are nowhere near real chocolate.

* Cooking with Chocolate- Try to avoid thinning chocolate with butter. Instead, look for chocolate with a higher percentage of cocoa butter to maintain the quality of your product. When blending different kinds of chocolate, such as milk and bittersweet, use the same brand. Ingredients and preparation can vary greatly between companies, making particular tastes that may not blend together smoothly.
